Writers’ Tears Double Oak is a blend of two premium whiskey styles – Single Pot Still and Single Malt – aged in two types of wood – American and French Oak. It is triple-distilled, non-chill filtered and bottled at 46% ABV (92 Proof). This expression is made possible by a close collaboration between the Walsh family in Ireland’s County Carlow and the Legaret family in Cognac, France.
Writers’ Tears is a unique style of whiskey embedded in Irish history. At a time when Irish whiskey was distilled exclusively in copper pot stills, two styles flourished: Single Malt and Single Pot Still. The marriage of both styles became known as ‘The Champagne of Irish Whiskey’ and was a style beloved of many of the Irish literary greats of the time. Writers’ Tears is a recreation of that fabled 19th century whiskey and a tribute to Ireland’s creative past, present and future.
To enjoy Writers’ Tears Double Oak Irish Whiskey, simply pour it into a whiskey glass. You can drink it neat to fully savor its complex flavors or add a few drops of water to open up the aroma. Remember, this whiskey is best served at room temperature. When storing, keep it in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight. Avoid shaking the bottle vigorously as it may affect the sediment. Enjoy responsibly!
