Producer Description
Welcome to tangent, where we explore the limitless possibilities of white wine. We start with grapes of intense varietal character, grown in the cool, temperate Edna Valley. Winemaker Christian Roguenant works his magic, and we ultimately bottle fresh, crisp and vibrant white wines. As most food seems to cry out for clean, lively wines with good acid structure, we set out to find them. In doing so we discovered there are few here in the States, and in fact that no California winery was purely focused on making white food-friendly wines. And as our family has given us the incredible opportunity to create and manage new projects, we realized we really had something here. Something we could build for now, and for generations in the future. With our access to some of the best cool-climate vineyards which is where most of these varietals thrive we thought wed be nuts not to give it a shot. Whether were nuts or not is a matter of personal opinion. But we do believe that tangent wines exemplify true varietal character and there is place for them on any table. We invite you to give them a try and let us know what you think. John Niven and Michael BlaneyCousins and third-generation Niven family winegrape farmers
To enjoy this wine, simply open the bottle and pour it into a wine glass. Let it breathe for a bit if you like. It pairs great with a variety of foods like seafood, salads, and light pasta dishes. Store it in a cool, dark place. Keep away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. When serving, make sure the wine is at a good drinking temperature, around 45 – 55°F (7 – 13°C). Avoid shaking the bottle too vigorously before opening.
