To use our White Button Mushroom Grow Kit: First, keep it out of direct sunlight, like in a wardrobe, garage, or laundry. Open the box. If the compost looks brown, close the kit and wait a week or more until it’s frosty white. Then, open the plastic and spread the casing evenly over the compost, leaving it loose. Leave the kit open. Mist it with water every 2 – 3 days. After 2 – 3 weeks, mushrooms will start to form. Twist them out and fill the holes with peat moss. Important: Start the kit right away. A short delay of 1 – 2 weeks is okay, but a delay of a month or more is not good. Store it in a cool place if you need to delay. Also, it’s risky to store in warm climates. After harvesting mushrooms, you can use the used kit to grow herb seeds. It makes a great fertile pot for herbs.
