Description
A burnt amber color gives way to aromas of dried herbs, Chinese Five Spice and a bit of earthiness. Flavors of dried cherries and strawberries accented by pomegranate arrive in the glass, where the wine is as mellow as a West County farmer.
Producer Description
MacPhail Wines are a collaboration between Tim and Sabrina Persson, 5th generation Hess Family, and well-known Winemaker Matt Courtney, who share a common belief that wine is art with a splash of science. The little red wagon symbolizes timeless design and exceptional quality. Tim and Sabrina hope their children will have many adventures in their little red wagon as they take MacPhail into the next generation. The wines are an exploration of the Sonoma and Anderson Valley coastline with the goal to preserve artisanal techniques and capture all the potential in the glass.Located in what is deemed “the gateway to the Sonoma Coast,” the Sangiacomo Lakeville Vineyards were planted by the Sangiacomo family in 1990 during the rebirth of the Petaluma Gap region. Wind and fog cover the vineyards in the early morning and late afternoon hours, which allows for extra hangtime and helps build complexity of flavor in the grapes. This environment combined with the Sangiacomo family’s passion and appreciation for the land, help to produce some of the most premium Pinot Noir grapes of the region.
This MacPhail Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is best served at room temperature. Simply open the bottle, let it breathe for a bit if you like, and pour it into your favorite wine glass. Enjoy it on its own or pair it with a delicious meal. Keep the wine away from direct sunlight and store it in a cool, dark place. If you plan to keep it for a while, make sure the cork is moist to prevent air from getting in.
